How am I spending Memorial Day Weekend,
you ask?
OK. OK! I'm not ducking out on this long weekend! Non, non...
I'm actually feeling somewhat peppy, energized, and up for a spontaneous combustion of uber-late spring-cleaning--- bringing lightness and cheer to my 'Crib for Grownups'...
Earlier today, I went around to Santa Monica, driving in my convertible with the top down. Somehow, mine stayed on. But just barely!
Sold some of the clothes, shoes, etc I no longer wear and/or need anymore to a cool vintage-y resale store...
Used the earnings to buy a nice little Memorial Day feast complete with:
oysters, strawberries, pineapples, mushrooms, organic herbs for salad, 'taters, soy milk, yellow rice, red bull, mountain dew, etc
Oh...and put some gas in the car (!!!)...
And I did it all for.... tonight's impromptu dinner extravaganza. And, perhaps, a picnic for tomorrow at the beach
(sans gas, of course! I'm paying attention, are you? My boots were made fer walkin'! ;)).
Just finished sprucing up my place and doing a "gangbang cleanup"...
Which basically means rallying ZJ to tackle my massive apartment, room by room, to do a quick overhaul and vacuum/dust/cleanse, detailing and decorating each lil crevice.....
Yet, rather than have you ogle all my apartment accoutrements, I thought perhaps you'd like a sample of some of that which adorns my sugar walls....?

A Southwest flight to Fort Lauderdale, by way of Phoenix, followed by a taxi to the South Seas hotel, recommended by Exxotica Expo.
A very laidback Texas transplant who was getting his higher learning on in one of California's best universities was my and Z.J.'s flight companion for the first leg of the flight.
We had a rabid, rousing time ruffling the feathers of fellow passengers with our bawdy, frat boy-ish humor.
(I iz totally one of the guys whenever, well, guys are present, who'd've thunk it?)
Thursday Night
A fabulous soiree for the exhibitors/promoters/ adult industry types at the Catalina hotel (in the pool area).
Played a fast and furious three rounds of billiards against the
Northern European group of guys, helping a groom-to-be celebrate his last moments of singlehood.
Good game, sexy boys, and yes, indeed, you won the final match. I bow down to thee!

A trek to the World Erotic Art Museum on 12th and Washington, scribbling furiously about the artifacts which captured my interest amongst over 4,000 delectably delish items.
A very large trove of treasures to lug back to South Seas. A charming French cafe to wile away the evening with a plate of filet mignon, a glass of Stella Artois and Kir Royal, but not before a small Caprese salad.
Tuesday, Time-Out Day, May 24th, 2011
A bout of allergy overload, sensitivity, and a bit of morbid morosity. A missed encounter or two.
A strong Long Island and gifted double tequila shot. An exchanging of pseudo-business cards (on cocktail napkins).
A promise to stay in touch. A spark of inspiration.
A 7 minutes-in-heaven stint on MyGirlFund, ending in tales of common adult industry friends and $100 ($66.37 or some such after the jump).
An order of a great big pepperoni pizza with mushrooms and a 2 liter of sprite, which became a 6-pack. No worries.
Wednesday, Hump Day, May 25th, 2011
A very groggy morning. Three different wakeup calls, queuing on command.
A big armload of things to minimize, discard, or tuck ever-so-tightly.
A super short walk that measured less than half a block to the Express Bus that would take me and Z.J. to MIA airport for $2.75/person flat (The driver settled on $5.00, even!).
A long, languid flight home, with a bit of a detour to avoid the impending tornadoes roaming about.
A few slipped glasses of red wine (even a freebie) from the pleasant airline stewardess aboard USAir.
A true-blue internet connection in the great blue skies almost made up for the lack of plausible eatery aboard.....
And it was nice to assure a fellow traveler that AirNewZealand would toooootally wait for him, despite our flight being about one and a half hours later for LAX arrival than planned.
Made sure to notify the same sweet stewardess and heard her on the dial, notifying Air New Zealand, but who knows? Sure hope that guy made it!
De-planed and looked for the nearest and dearest fast-food available in the airport. McDonalds would have to do.
Stuffed half a Big Mac, half a pouch of fries and several sips of Sprite-with-no-ice down my yearning throat.
Devoured the last Marlboro red in my pack.
Hailed a taxi-cab and coughed up the $30 for a 6.5 miles drive with a smile......
How do I do it?
And, within, say, and hour or two, sleep could not have come any sooner.
